I just joined the PPA. Its free or you can make a donation if you wish. I'm not sure how much of a difference they can make but here is why you should join too:
(1) There is strength in numbers;
(2) What have we got to lose?
(3) We need to fight back;
(4) Lederer, Raymer, and Fergusan are all Board Members. These are guys I respect, who have integrity and I believe the best intersts of the game at heart; and
(5) They recently hired former New York Senator Al D'Amato as a lobbyist. He has also become a board member. This shows they are committed to reaching the "powers that be" and bending their ear about carving out an exemption for poker.
I really think that if we're going to win this it won't be reversing the legislation, it will be exempting poker as a game of skill which I think would ne a MUCH easier sell to legislators than trying to reverse the UIEGA.
